Bob Thornton, President of Investment Management

Robert Thornton is President of First Republic Investment Management.

Thornton joined First Republic in 2006, after working as a Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. in San Francisco. Previously he was with Credit Suisse First Boston as a Managing Director, and with Lehman Brothers, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions business in both roles. Thornton began his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he served as Vice President in Mergers and Acquisitions and prior to that, as a member of its Corporate Finance Department.

Thornton earned an A.B. from Duke University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School. He also served as a Law Clerk to the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.

Raul I. Galano, Senior Vice President, Trust Operations

Raul I. Galano is a Senior Vice President at First Republic Trust Company.

Galano joined First Republic Trust Company in November 1999 when he was invited to become one of its founding officers. Previously, Galano was with Cupertino National Bank where he helped restructure the Trust Department, which was subsequently renamed Greater Bay Trust Company. Prior to Cupertino National Bank, Galano worked with University Nation Bank and Trust as Vice President and Operations Manager and before that, Galano was the Trust Operations Manager at The Pacific Bank where he assisted with the establishment of the Bank's Trust Division. Galano began his Trust Operations career at Crocker National Bank in 1981.

Galano earned a B.S. degree in 1981 from De La Salle University in Manila and gained advanced education at both San Jose State and Golden Gate Universities.

Nicolas Gentin, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development

Nicolas Gentin is a Senior Vice President and directs marketing, strategy, and business planning for First Republic Private Wealth Management.

Gentin joined First Republic in 2005. Prior to First Republic, he was a Senior Manager at Schwab Institutional where he focused on developing resources to enable independent investment advisors to serve clients and grow and run their businesses efficiently. Gentin has experience as an equities trader and has worked in marketing and business development roles for eBay and Wind River (a subsidiary of Intel).

After earning an AB in International Relations from Brown University, Gentin graduated with an MBA in Marketing and Management & Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management.

Michael J. Harrington, President of Trust Services

Michael J. Harrington is President of First Republic Trust Company.

Harrington was name President in 2006. He joined First Republic as a Deputy Trust Manager in 2002. He came to First Republic from Bank of America, where he was the Regional Fiduciary Executive for Bank of America's Private Bank. Prior to Bank of America, Harrington was a senior trust lawyer for Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco. He began his fiduciary career as an attorney in 1976, first as Deputy County Counsel for the Los Angeles Public Administrator and then as an estate planning and trust lawyer for law firms in Southern California.

Harrington was also active in the development of California's Trust Law, first as a member of the Executive Committee for the Estate Planning Section of the Los Angeles Bar Association and later as a representative of the California Bankers Association. He is also affiliated with the Bar Association of San Francisco and serves as a panelist for the American Law Institute, Continuing Education of the Bar, and various Estate Planning Councils.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in 1972, Harrington graduated from UCLA School of Law in 1975.

Yale Kofman, Chief Administrative Officer

Yale Kofman is Chief Administrative Officer of First Republic Investment Management.

Kofman joined First Republic Investment Management as Chief Administrative Officer in 2008. In his current position, he is responsible for operations, client service, reporting and systems infrastructure. Prior to joining First Republic, he was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Charles Schwab Investment Management in San Francisco, where he was responsible for its proprietary managed accounts program and for implementing its mutual fund wrap offer. In addition, he helped in the portfolio design of several mutual funds and was a member of Schwab's Investment Strategy Council, which determines the asset allocation and sector guidelines for retail investors. Kofman has a strong background in portfolio management, investment product development, and systems infrastructure. He began his career in 1992 and his experience includes positions as Assistant Vice President in the Wealth Management group at California Bank & Trust and Vice President & Trust Officer at Greater Bay Bank.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis & Clark College, Kofman received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

David Tateosian, President of Brokerage Services

David Tateosian is President of First Republic Securities Company.

Tateosian assumed the role of President of First Republic Securities Company in 2003. Before joining First Republic, Tateosian was Senior Managing Director of brokerage and trading services for NYSE member firm Preferred Trade, Inc. in San Francisco, where he was responsible for the management and business development of the firm's Retail and Institutional Agency business lines. Prior to that, Tateosian spent 10 years at Fidelity Investments, most recently as Vice President and Manager of Fidelity's retail investor centers in San Francisco and Palo Alto.

Tateosian serves on the San Francisco SPCA Board of Directors where he has been its Treasurer and currently chairs its Investment and Audit Committees.

Tateosian earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont. He holds FINRA Series 4, 6, 7, 8, 24, 55, 63, 65 licenses and is a FINRA Arbitrator.
