What are the system requirements for Secure Email?

All you need is access to the Internet and an email account.

How do I get started?

First, you need to request an encrypted email message from someone at First Republic. The first time you receive a Secure Email, you will be asked to register by providing your name and a password of your choosing. You will use this password to send and retrieve future Secure Email messages. Please note that whenever you reply to a Secure Email, your reply is automatically encrypted.

How do I initiate a Secure Email?

Once registered, go to URL https://securemail.firstrepublic.com from any browser. Sign in and use the Compose Message form.

Can I use Secure Email to send email to addresses not at First Republic?

You can only use First Republic's secure system to send to addresses ending with @firstrepublic.com.

Is there a time limitation for message retrieval?

Yes, all messages must be retrieved within 30 days. After 30 days, they will expire and need to be resent.

What is the limitation for attachments?

Attachments cannot exceed 10 MB.

When should I use Secure Email instead of regular email?

Whenever you transmit confidential information such as account numbers or balance information.

What other precautions should I take when using Secure Email?

Do not include confidential data in the subject header, as it is not encrypted.
