Online Statements Questions

What is the difference between an Online Statement and the "Account Activity" information available in Online Banking?

Both your Account Activity screen and your Online Statements show your transaction history and are free of charge. Here are the key differences:

  • The Account Activity screen shows all the completed and pending transactions for the last 60 days, going back 18 months (you can also choose to have it show transactions for some other specified period).
  • Online Statements are electronic versions of the monthly paper statements you currently receive. They include transactions from a set period of time (a statement cycle) and do not include any pending transactions.

How will I know when the online statement is available?

You provide an email address when you enroll, and you will receive an email when the statement is available for your review.

How will the online statements look?

Online Statements appear as PDFs, which look like your printed statement, and you can access, save, and print these as needed.

Your Online Statements also appear in HTML version, which looks like a web page.

How do I view my online statement?

  • Click on the Go Paperless button, or the Online Statements tab and you will be presented with a Documents list, which shows all the accounts that have online statements available. Each document's format is clearly identified (PDF or HTML).
  • Select the account statement you want to view and click the link to the account on your Documents list or your Unviewed Documents list. The statement will be displayed in your browser.
  • Click on a tab at the top of the document to display an alternate view of the document. If you accessed the document from your Documents list (rather than the Unviewed Document list), links to previous versions of your document are displayed on the right side.

Can I print out my online statements?

Yes, select the PDF version of the Online Statement and just click on the Print link to print your Online Statements directly from your browser.

How long are my statements available online?

We began providing statements in PDF format in July 2010. We will build up our 7-year archive of PDF statements beginning with your July 2010 statement.

In the meantime, you can retrieve up to 18 months of statements in HTML format from our archive.

What do I do if I need statements older than 18 months?

You can request older statements either from your banker or from our Customer Care Center at 1-888-408-0288. We are currently working on building up our online statement archive.

How does the online statements system work?

When your Online Statement is available for viewing; we will send you a notification email, to the email address you designate. This will be at the same time you would normally receive your paper statement. When the notification arrives in your email box, just:

  • Log into Online Banking
  • Your Online Statement will be available through the Go Paperless button or the Online Statements tab.
  • Click on the statements under the heading of Unviewed Documents or select your Account.

You can print your statements out. Statements will be kept online by our Online Banking service for 18 months as we build up our 7-year archive.

Do I have to sign up for Online Banking in order to use the Online Statement service?

Yes. This feature is only available through Online Banking service for both personal and First Republic Corporate Online customers.

If I choose to receive Online Statements, will I still receive my paper statements?

No, paper statements will stop once you have selected Online Statements. You can change your mind at any time and resume receiving paper statements by calling your banker or our Online Banking Support team at 1-888-372-4891.

Will I still get images of my canceled checks?

If you receive your images of your canceled checks today, you'll also receive them in your online statement.

For the PDF version of your statement, the last pages of the statement will contain the check images from this cutoff period.

For the HTML version of your statement, simply click on the “View Images” link on the left-hand side of the page. In addition, you can also access images of your checks through Online Banking.

What is the difference between the Online Statement and the paper statement?

Your online statement is just the same as your paper statement and is your official record of your account transactions. Be sure to review the information carefully.

What should I do if my account is not listed on the Online Statements home page?

If your account is not listed on your Online Statements home page, please call our Online Banking Support team at 1-888-372-4891.

How do I view my Online Statements home page?

Click on the Go Paperless button, or the Online Statements tab and you will be presented with your Online Statements home page. The Online Statements home page has two main areas:

  • The Documents area lists the account numbers for which Online Statements documents are available.
  • The Unviewed Documents area includes links to the Online Statements documents that you have not yet viewed. After you view a document in your Unviewed Documents area, the link no longer appears under Unviewed Documents. However, you can access the document from your Documents list.

How do I reset my email, and email delivery option?

You may reset your email address, and Online Statements notification. From the home page, select, Email Options.

To change this... Do this...
Email Type the new email address in the Email field and click Change.
Your option to receive Online Statement notifications via email for each account Under Email Delivery Options, check the box if you would like to be notified by email whenever a new document is available on your Online Statement home page. Click Change. Uncheck the box if you do not want to receive an email each time a new document is available. Whether this box is checked or unchecked, you can still access your new document

What are other ways that I can go paperless?

  • Use your debit card instead of cash or checks for all your everyday purchases and to pay bills.
  • Pay your bills online through Online Bill Pay.
  • Save even more paper by looking for the e-bill icon next to your billers name.
  • Set up automatic payments from your checking account with your billers today.

I am on First Republic Corporate Online and we restrict account access by user. Will the same account restrictions apply to the online statements?

Yes, all account permissions by user that are established on First Republic Corporate Online will extend to the user's Online Statements access. The user will only be able to see online statements to accounts to which they are granted permissions in Balance Reporting.
