Image Statement Questions

This information is provided for clients who are new to image statements.

What are image statements?

Image statements include printed "pictures" (images) of your canceled checks, instead of the canceled checks themselves, as part of your monthly statement.

Consumer accounts: Statements are printed with 4 images per page (front of checks only)

Many bank customers already receive image statements. All remaining customers who still receive canceled checks will begin receiving image statements either in July or August 2009.

Will I be affected if I already receive image statements?

No. If you already receive image statements, you will continue receiving check images in the same format that you currently receive them.

Are check images acceptable as proof of payment?

Imaged checks are acceptable in a court of law and by the Internal Revenue Service as proof of payment as long as they show the check number, the amount of the check and the name of the payee. Your image statement will include all this information.

Does this mean I will no longer receive my checks with my statement?

Your original canceled checks are destroyed after six months.

What if I need a copy of an old check?

Check imaging technology allows us to store high quality images of your old checks. We can easily access them and send them to you as needed.

Will there be a charge for image statements?

No, in addition to being easier to use, check images are also provided free of charge.

Will I need to get new checks because of image statements?

No, the vast majority of checks will provide a quality image. If you experience any problems, we will work with you to resolve the problem.
